Pour un Sourire d’ Enfant (PSE) or For a Child’s Smile is a non-profit organization and founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, was established since 1995 in Cambodia. PSE’s mission is to help the most marginalised and debrided children escape from destitution and lead them to decent, skilled and well remunerated jobs. PSE has six main programmes adapted to the needs of the children, those programmes include: food, health, protection, education and schooling, vocational training, and helping families. PSE employs more than 600 employees and provides help to more than 6,500 children and 3000 families. We are operating in Phnom Penh, Sihanouk Ville and Siem Reap. We are looking for qualified candidates for the positions below.

Purpose of the Job:
- Teach students with General English Program (GEP) and or English for Specific Purpose (ESP) by providing the high quality of English teaching and implement any relevant curricular for students, and to support a designated curriculum of all English programs in PSE;
- Maintain all documents to monitor and support the overall progress and development of students; and
- Be assigned to share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.
Dimension/Scope of job:
This position does not neither manage the people nor have authority to approve/manage any budget expenses.
Main Responsibilities:
1- Teach students with General English Program (GEP) and or English for Specific Purpose (ESE) by providing the high quality of English teaching and implement any relevant curricular for students, and to support a designated curriculum of all English programs in PSE
- Teach consistently high quality lessons in line with the designated school curriculum;
- Use a variety of pedagogical techniques of student centered approach;
- Use a variety of assessment methods and give feedback to students– assignments, quizzes, tests, etc., to evaluate and monitor student progress;
- Plan and deliver schemes of work and lessons that meet the requirements record/report for teaching/class administration;
- Be a role model for students, inspiring them to be actively interested in the major field by ensuring a high quality learning environment;
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the school procedures and to encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, professional behavior and responsibility;
- Cooperate with the team to substitute for any leave in order not to let the students stay in the class without teachers which can affect the consequence of the course;
- Promote aspects of personal development related to the major subject;
- Update professional knowledge and expertise to keep up to date with development in teaching practice and methodology, in general, and in the curriculum area of the school; and
- Provide basic counseling to slow learners or learners with discipline problems by encouraging an active self-learning both in school and community.
- Prepare and maintain teaching materials as assigned by Management;
- Key in required documentation such as Attendance Registers, Homework
- marks, Assignment marks, Test marks, Reports in Google Drive;
- Record all students’ profile under his/her responsibility so as to follow up and check their progress to help students fulfill their potential academically and morally and encourage students’ physical and emotional development at PSE.
- Be a teacher in charge or class tutor;
- Complete the relevant documentation to ensure the effective/efficient deployment of classroom support;
- Maintain appropriate records and provide relevant accurate and up-to-date information regarding to individual case of students when needed;
- Maintain student discipline during self-study session, lunch break, napping time, flag honor and other assigned areas of the school;
- Participate in extra-curricular activities and school events;
- Take part in the staff development program by participating in arrangements for further training and professional development;
- Play a full part in the whole school operation to support its distinctive mission and activities;
- Be courteous to colleagues and visitors by providing them a welcoming environment;
- Maintain a meaningful communication with the students and their families; and maintain on-going communication with other teachers/colleagues to ensure a positive, nurturing and collaborative relationship;
- Give presentations/lectures in staff development workshops as requested;
- Participate in staff development opportunities, e.g. workshops, technical meetings,
- conferences, etc;
- Participate in meetings as necessary – Class councils, Task/project meetings, monthly
- staff meetings etc; and
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the superiors.
- Primary classroom issues of students in their academic attitude and progress, Disciplinary, Counselling on social and family problem of the students, the improvement of school curriculum and activities, Learning Assessment and student progress, and students encouragement.
- Each School Acedamic Team and Student Affairs Officer, PSE Psychology team, and PSE Pedagogy team
- Bachelor Degree of Education in English – TESOL/TEFL
- Pedagogy Certificate is a plus
- At least two-year experience in teaching
- Minimum overall band Score of 500 in TOEFL or 5.0 in IELTS
- Or pass PSE English teacher recruitment test
- Fundamental understanding on psychology working with children, especially vulnerable ones
- Very good computer skill _ Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet and e-mail
- Good interpersonal and communication skill
- Very good sense of humor, creative and energetic
- Strong moral values and discipline to be a role model to the students
- Flexible with high adaptability and accountability
- Be able to work under pressure
- Be commited to PSE’s vision and core values
