SNAPP is well equipped to help make the world more sustainable by better understanding the interplay of development, conservation, and human well-being. Such an understanding plays to our core strengths — strong science, an interdisciplinary approach, and taking science to action at scales that matter.
SNAPP regularly issues requests-for-proposals for new Working Groups. Project proposals must have the potential to generate clear outcomes for improving human well-being and nature conservation, and should examine a geographic scale that may produce generalizable conclusions and/or replicable solutions.
Proposals may require some original modeling, and in rare cases funding may be provided to collect some original data that fill gaps in an otherwise relatively complete picture.

While this year’s Request for Proposals remains open to globally important issues at the interface of conservation, development and human well-being, proposals centered around these climate and sanitation themes are especially welcome.
The more truly trans-disciplinary our SNAPP working groups are, the more likely we are to develop innovative solutions to conservation problems that will actually be put into practice by a wide range of stakeholders.
Please note: SNAPP funds the convening of working groups but does not cover salary of individual working group members.
