Save the Children’s mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. Save the Children programs focus on Education, Health and Nutrition, Child Rights Governance, Child Protection, Child Poverty and Humanitarian/DRR. We work with government partners and local NGOs to improve children’s lives, especially marginalized and disadvantaged children. Save the Children is looking for high quality, motivated national candidates to fill several positions across the country office.
Education Consultant based in Kratie province with travel to field (1 position)
The Purpose of the Role
The main purpose of the role is to provide both technical and administrative assistance to the Education Program Officer in project planning, activity implementation, administrative and logistics work, field follow up and mentoring to schools and community, and project reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- At least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in education or other relevant field;
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with NGOs or INGOs in the education sector, preferably in basic education;
- Familiar with education issues and education system in Cambodia;
- Demonstrated skills in facilitation, presentation, and communication;
- Ability to use computer for office work and understand basic English language;
- Ability to think critically and work independently;
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches;
- Strong commitment to SC’s Mission, Vision and Values and full adherence to SC’s Child Safe Guarding policy;
- Sensitivity and adaptability towards culture, gender, religion, race, nationality, and age;
- Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours, and work under time pressure to reach the deadline.
- Graduated from formal training in pedagogy/teaching methodology;
- Practical experience in supporting, integrating, and retaining out-of-school children into/in education system;
- Ability and willingness to travel and stay in remote and rural poor communities of Cambodia.
