Good Neighbors Cambodia (GNC) is the field country office of Good Neighbors International working in 37 countries in the world. Good Neighbors Cambodia is implementing long term integrated projects focusing on sponsorship, education, health, water & sanitation, income generation & partnership building in some provinces of Cambodia; and we are expanding more projects to other provinces to meet our rapid growth. We are seeking more qualified candidates to join our dynamic team for the following position:

Project Coordinator of Good Solar Innovation (1 position based in O-Taki district, Battambang province).
Job description:
Leadership, Management and Coordination
  • Manage the performance of project staffs, providing them with effective feedbacks and coaching, and developing human resource strategies relevant to the effective implementation of the solar business.
  • Support the Managing Director (MD) to boost good individual/team performance to ensure quality ministry and good stewardship, through coaching, mentoring and regular meetings.
  • Ensure that staffs understand/follow the GNC’s child protection policy that efforts are taken to respond promptly & appropriately to child-friendly actions in all of the GSI’s business process.
  • Coordinate with all staffs and key partners to ensure and support smooth project.
  • Ensure the supportive management for staffs in a manner which develops staffs’ competencies and optimizes the quality, efficiency and job satisfactions of employees.
  • Support and coordinate with MD to make networks with different organization to secure necessary technical, human and financial resources which improves project implementation.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability
  • Ensure that projects comply at all stages with GNC/GSI’s standards for Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DME), as specified in associated guidelines for quality documentations.
  • Assist the MD to ensure that the operation of the solar business is financially stable and sustainable.
  • Ensure that the establishment spirit and its operation objective as a Social Enterprise are to be maintained in all the business activities.
  • Ensure that project priorities and approaches are compatible to GNC’s strategies to promote community empowerment.
  • Identify and ensure the effective utilization of different funding resources and business revenue, in order to sustain project objectives with accountability.
  • Monitor the progress of project activities and budget expenditure compared to the work plan through staff meeting, project reports and discussion with staffs as well as document review.
  • Ensure that monitoring tools are effectively used by each team to track the progress of project implementation.
  • Coordinate processes for monitoring and evaluation and for resource tracking to capture learning and reflection.
  • Coordinate a design/revision of business plan (detailed budget and action plan) in response to monitoring, learning and reflection with the customers.
  • Manage and report on the budget according to GNC’s guidelines/policy, ensuring that projects are responsibly spent up to the level of approved business plan with adequate explanations, to secure the highest levels of financial integrity with accountability and transparency.
  • Produce different reports such as weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual/annual report, designated fund report, and analyze performances on sales, customer satisfaction to submit to the MD in quality and timely manner.
Business Implementation
  • Build good relationships and communicate with customers and all appropriate stakeholders on behalf of MD to let them know the identity of GSI clearly.
  • Build close relationships to actively learn lessons to promote both the business and social values within customers and community partners through regular visits to customers’ houses and attending community social events, in order to obtain the community trust.
  • Develop and track to detailed business plans including different schedules, cost estimation, resource plans, risk-mitigation plans and problem-resolution plans.
  • Prepare sales/marketing strategic plan and customer management plan for the better satisfaction of all customers to GSI’s products and services.
  • Develop brand image as a credible player in the market through the accredited certification system and/or the participation in credible industry and networking events.
  • Coordinate and supervise the marketing activities and money-collecting activities to maximize profits and minimize expenses following the sales strategy in different markets and different activity zones.
  • Ensure that all customers’ claims or complaints are appropriately responded, needs are met and concerns are addressed.
  • Provide appropriate market information for the MD to make a decision or to revise the price of all the solar products and services of GSI.
Learning and Capacity building
  • Ensure that staffs are able to access to appropriate training opportunities from inside and outside of the GNC/GSI, according to staff needs and organizational priorities.
  • Develop internal training programs for teams and staffs to improve appropriate skills, methods or techniques, in order for all staffs to be able to manage the resource by themselves eventually.
  • Conduct regular learning reflections with GSI teams to continuously empower staffs.
  • Participate actively as a member in different GNC’s workshops for learning and reflection to improve the quality of GNC’s overall capacity.
  • Raise awareness and facilitate critical analysis of customer’s issues and opportunities to transform their mind set, to motivate to have a full responsibility and to find up their potentials.
  • Besides, a range of other tasks assigned by the line manager (MD).

  1. Bachelor’s degree in development and project management or business management or marketing-related field.
  2. Minimum 2 years of appropriate professional experience in management and leadership of a comparable community development project/program, OR market-based project (ex. Income Generation program) OR a business. Experiences in a social enterprises are more advantageous, but not necessary.
  3. (Alternatively, it is acceptable to have totally 3 years of intermixed experiences mentioned above.)
  4. Sound experience and acknowledgeable skills in project/program design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and report writing.
  5. Good interpersonal, communication and networking skills.
  6. Competent in written English communication, computer literate (Ms. word, excel, PPT)
  7. Willing to travel and stay overnight in the community of rural areas.
