THE HUMAN RIGHTS YOUTH FORUM 2017
The World Youth Wave, CSO, Belgrade is opening a call for
applications for participation in the very first Human Rights Youth
Forum to be held in Tirana, August 13th-15th 2017. This project is financed by the OSCE Mission to Serbia.
About the Human Rights Youth Forum 2017 (#HRYF17):
#HRYF17 is organized by the World Youth Wave, CSO in partnership with the Union of Secondary Students of Serbia, the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia, the European Youth Association from Albania and Mjaft! Movement from Albania. The project is organized within the framework of the OSCE Mission to Serbia’s project: Enhancing regional connectivity among Serbian and Albanian youth actors. The main objective of #HRYF17 is to educate up to 40 participants in the area of human rights protection and enable them to develop inter-personal skills in several fields: argumentation, reaching consensus, public speaking, problem analysis, problem solving, research methods, as well as the intercultural and interreligious dialogue and working in a multicultural environment. Moreover, the participants are expected to become multipliers in their local setting by sharing gained knowledge, experience and skills through peer-to-peer education and follow-up activities.

The #HRYF17 will host 4 different workshops:
1. Minorities Right to Education and Employment
2. Human Rights Education in Formal Education
3. Freedom of Expression and Interreligious Dialogue
4. Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity

Each workshop shall produce a set of recommendations on how to
improve human rights protection in both countries and ensure they are
practiced by everyone. Additionally, participants will be trained no how
to act by themselves as human rights defenders in their local
communities.
The working language of the Forum is English.
Who is eligible to apply for #HRYF17:
Young people aged 15-30 who:
– Hold either Serbian or Albanian citizenship
– Have previous experience in youth projects and youth activities (training courses, exchanges, seminars, conferences, etc.)
– Are open-minded and think out-of-the-box
– Are proactive and take initiative
– Have interest in intercultural dialogue and diversity
– Have interest in regional youth cooperation
– Have interest in human rights advocacy
– Demonstrate strong motivation for further impact and peer education

Costs:
For Serbian participants: Accommodation, food and workshop
materials will be provided, and travel expenses for a return bus ticket
to Tirana will be reimbursed after the Forum. Please keep the original
tickets or else we will not be able to refund you!
For Albanian participants: Food and workshop materials will be
provided. Travel expenses will be reimbursed for a return bus ticket to
Tirana only for participants residing outside of Tirana. Please keep
original tickets or else we will not be able to refund you!
