The overarching aim of this training program is to offer a great opportunity for participants to develop skills in better managing and resolving conflict. Everyone experiences conflict whether it is at work or in personal interactions. Conflict is inevitable; therefore it is imperative that participants are well equipped to deal with conflict appropriately. Conflict resolution skills are not traditionally taught in school; hence, participants learned conflict resolution skills through trial and error. This program gives participants a formal opportunity to develop conflict resolution skills and enable them to effectively utilize the skills learned in professional and personal relationships.

Course Objective
At the end of the training, the participants will:

  • Have knowledge on key basics of conflicts
  • Be able to identify key conflict styles
  • Develop key listening skills
  • Learn how to use different types of questions for different scenarios
  • Learn how to apply key principles of consultation in resolving conflicts
  • Be able to generate different options
  • Learn how to arrive at a win-win decision

With more than 10 years’ experience in the field of Human Resources in Cambodia, Mehran Chinniah has covered responsibilities involving HRD, Employee Relations, Personnel Administration, Change Management, performance management, Industrial Relations and Learning & Development in the hospitality, customer care and information technology industries. He has also served as a Training consultant for a variety of companies in Cambodia and Malaysia.

His organizational insights and hands-on experience were obtained from various roles in the past including Human Resource Director for several multinationals. Mehran’s forte and passion are in the areas of recruitment, change management, performance management, industrial relations, labor law, employee relations, strategic recruitment, strategic manpower management and learning and development.  Mehran is credited for developing Organizational Core Values for his current and a past employer and developed processes to embed these values in the companies ‘culture, performance management systems and staff evaluation indicators.

His depth of experience in Cambodia has given him an understanding of the intricacies of working in developing markets in general, and the Khmer culture in particular.

Mehran’s years of experience in journalism has taught him the art of communicating succinctly and his legal background has honed his ability to think and act astutely.  An energetic presenter and fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Khmer, Mehran constantly aims to bring out the best in his fellow human beings.

Therefore, we need to understand that conflict is a normal part of life, it is beneficial and it is inevitable. It is how we actually manage it that is the difficult part.
