The Positive Action MSM and Transgender Programme is a new global
initiative designed to support and inform the global effort to alleviate
the impact of HIV and AIDS among MSM (men who have sex with men) and
transgender populations around the world and to enable MSM and
transgender individuals to safely seek culturally competent HIV care and
services.
This new initiative is designed to direct resources to where needs
are greatest. MSM and transgender populations are often stigmatised and
isolated; they have been understudied, under-resourced and inadequately
supported.
The new Positive Action MSM and Transgender Programme will support organisations that work to :
- Reduce the level and impact of stigma experienced
- Increase access to health-related services through community based collaborations
- Strengthen the capacity of community-based programmes that engage MSM and transgender groups to address HIV
Eligible Organizations: This small grants call for proposals is focused
on non-governmental and community-based organisations that can deliver
change at a community level thanks to their links with or representation
within affected MSM and transgender communities.
Collaborations: We welcome collaborative projects with two or more
organisations working together to address one or more of the Call for
Proposals key objectives and funding priorities. The lead organisation
should submit the Concept Note on behalf of all partners.
