International Consultant for Agricultural Land Use Monitoring in Lower Mekong Basin -- MRC

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and technical support to national line agencies in reviewing land cover map and land use change;
  • Facilitate a preparation meeting for final agricultural land use monitoring in LMB. Ensure that all national line agencies are aware of the project goals, work plan and timelines;
  • Visit each of the four MCs on the pilot area, accompanied by the national working group and relevant specialists;
  • Facilitate the workshops for agricultural land use monitoring in LMB;
  • Work with the study team manager and national consultants to ensure the required outputs. Continuously review and provide comment on every national working group’s report;
  • Analyse and document the agricultural land use change and driving forces in LMB;
  • Analyse and document the impact of agricultural land use change on local people’s livelihood in LMB.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Master or PhD degree in natural resources management, agricultural science, or related fields;
  • At least 15 years of experience in natural resources management, agriculture and land use change;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with a wide range of people and to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Demonstrated experience of working in the Lower Mekong Region (preferable);
  • Good understanding of agriculture and land use change, preferable in the Mekong basin;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
