Good Neighbors International (GNI) is an international humanitarian and development NGO. GNI has made great strides in its mission by providing people around the world with a better quality of life. Good Neighbors Cambodia (GNC) is the field country project that has been implementing its projects in Cambodia since 2002. GNC is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

Child Protection Officer (1 position based in Head Office, Phnom Penh)

Salary range is from 350$ to $500 per month plus other benefits

Job description:

• Ensure there are policies, procedures, systems, structures, resources and personnel in place to promote the welfare and protection of children taking part in GNC
• Ensure there are quality assurance mechanisms in place to monitor, review and evaluate arrangements for the protection of children.
• Encourage good practice by promoting and championing the child protection policy and procedures.
• Respond appropriately to disclosures or concerns which relate to the well-being of a child.
• Maintain confidential records of reported cases and action taken.
• Develop and deliver appropriate training for all GNC staff, volunteers, children and the community to ensure understanding of Child Protection generally and the implementation of GNC’s Child Protection Policy.
• Ensure GNC’s Child Protection Policy is reviewed and updated by keeping abreast of current standards, practices and the latest information on data protection, confidentiality.
• Response to all reported incidents as per GNC’s Child Protection Policy ensuring the principles of confidentiality, respect and fairness are applied to the way each case is managed.
• Consult with relevant Managers in investigating, resolving and following up issues ensuring that where possible and appropriate, incidents that are management issues are managed in a timely way and consistent with GNC policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate records of all reported incidents and subsequent investigations ensuring confidentiality and privacy for all parties involved at all times.
• Other tasks assigned by the line supervisor

Requirement

• Bachelor degree in Law or Equivalent with 3 years’ experience in NGOs or IO
• Knowledge of Child Protection Policy, child rights.
• ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
• Fluency in English and computer skill (Ms. Word, Excel, PowerPoint…etc.)
• Experience of working with children
• An interest in the well-being of children in safeguarding and child protection matters.
• A willingness to challenge opinion, where necessary, and to drive the child protection agenda.
• Strong listening skills and the ability to deal with sensitive situations with integrity.
