Senior Mechanic Technician
Pour un Sourire d’ Enfant (PSE) is a non-profit organization, established at the end of 1995 in Cambodia, working to provide food, shelter, medical care, general education and vocational training to children needing support, e.g. underprivileged children; maltreated children; children living in poverty and children without any formal education in Phnom Penh, Preah Sihanouk and Siem Reap.
Currently PSE is providing help to more than 6,500 children, supporting around 3,000 children in public schools, 1,500 in the remedial education program, and 1,500 in the vocational training program. Around 500 children benefit from specific educational programs: classes for children with disability, day-care centers, infant welfare, etc.
PSE employs more than 600 dedicated staff. Due to rapid growth of existing and new programs, PSE is seeking candidates to fill 01 position of “Senior Mechanic Technician” based in Phnom Penh.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Do maintenance and reparation all kinds of vehicles in the garage
- Maintain and control overall safety as well as control the inventory of all materials in the garage
- Provide technical assistance and work direction to support mechanic team
- Create and apply checklist and other procedures of car maintenance/reparation
- Provide consultation on administration department on PSE vehicle repair in external garage
- Assist Garage Manager to prepare the annual budget and control it effectively and efficiently
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to exchange general knowledge, techniques, experiences and information in order to support our successful operations
- Teach students in the real practice by explain them how to remove and refit correctly due to the technical norm
- Coach technicians on electrical system, electronic system and complex reparation
- Train, supervise and counsel students and control their general disciplines such as uniform, safety shoes, hair style, dispute and hygiene
- Perform other duties assigned by manager.
Job Requirements
- Certificate of technician in mechanics/automobile or related fields
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in automobile maintenance and reparation
- Aware of techniques, norm and characteristics of different machines
- Able to drive with validate driving license
- Good command of both spoken and written English; French is an advantage
- Ability to solve problems
- Strong willingness to work with and for vulnerable children
- IT literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet & E-mail)
