CIDO is a Cambodian Local NGO established in March 2006 by Cambodian senior staff from a Dutch NGO called ZOA. CIDO is one of the active members of the steering committee of DANGO Network of Otdar Meanchey province. Our projects focus on Food Security and Nutrition, Social Business, WASH, and Climate Change & Disaster Risk Reduction. CIDO also promotes sustainable development, and our mission is to enhance/improve the livelihoods and wellbeing of the poorest rural families and vulnerable people by providing technical and financial support and empowering/strengthening Community Based Organization (CBOs).
With funding support from Green Shoots Foundation, based in the United Kingdom, CIDO is currently seeking for three qualified Cambodian candidates to fulfill the position of one (01) Project Officer and two (02) Vegetable Production Trainers for a three-year project from mid-2014 till mid-2016, entitles “Agricultural Skills for Public Schools” (ASPUS). The project aims to promote sustainable school gardens and vocational skills among children in high school secondary and primary schools in the Samraong and Banteay Ampil Districts.

1. Requirements
- Bachelor degree in agriculture specialized in agronomy
- At least 2 years working experience with NGOs in agriculture, agribusiness, organic vegetable production, chemical free agriculture and soil improvement projects
- Experience in vegetable production, commercial farming, chemical free agriculture, compost fertilizer, and GAP (Good Agriculture Practice)
- Experience and knowledge about drip irrigation system
- Experience in vegetable production analysis and vegetable value chain
- Experience in project management, project monitoring and evaluation
- Good command of computer programs (Ms. Word & Excel, Internet and E-mail)
- Good command of English both writing and speaking
- Good command of reporting writing and public communication
2. Duties and responsibilities
2.1 Project management
- Responsible for managing the whole project and ensure the success of the project’s goal and objectives
- Supervise and build teamwork with two under supervision staffs (Vegetable Production Trainers)
- Work/collaborate with government partner staff from Provincial Department of Education, and Agriculture
- Develop annual, quarterly and monthly work plans for the project and ensure the success of the work plans
- Develop project follow-up tools, monitoring and evaluation system (M&E)
- Submit annual quarterly and monthly report to Executive Director
- Ensure the effective communication with donor and other stakeholders
- Facilitate all coordination activities among donor, school teachers and the community
2.2 Technical support and management of vegetable production
- Organize Training of Trainer (ToT) program and provide technical training on school vegetable garden to school garden facilitators
- Organize study visit on vegetable production to school garden facilitators
- Organize demonstration and learning on vegetable garden preparation and vegetable production
- Setup school vegetable gardens at target schools
- Provide training to students on school vegetable garden
- Ensure that all training contents and training activities are very well conducted in accordance with the GAP (Good Agriculture Practice) standards
- Ensure that students and teachers have enough knowledge and have practiced correctly the GAP standards at every vegetable gardens
- Conduct filed monitoring, provide technical advice to teachers and student and work closely with them

2. Duties and responsibilities
- Organize project steering committees
- Organize and select student garden clubs in all target schools
- Conduct ToT training on school vegetable production
- Provide technical training on school vegetable garden to school garden facilitators
- Conduct study visit on vegetable production to school garden facilitators
- Organize demonstration and learning on vegetable garden preparation and vegetable production
- Setup school gardens at target schools
- Setup drip irrigation system at each target school
- Facilitate the purchase and distribution of agricultural tools and materials for school garden
- Provide training to students on school garden
- Support interested children and parents to setup garden at home
- Conduct learning field day at schools and at homes
- Organize training events on organic vegetable production and other exchange visits to farmers
- Conduct filed monitoring, provide technical advice to farmers and work closely with them on day-to-day work to ensure that the work done
- Prepare report & work plan and submit them to project officer
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Project Officer and Executive Director
