The
Asia Foundation’s Books for Asia (BFA) program is seeking a Global
Supply Chain Inventory Associate to work in its San Leandro, CA
warehouse.
BFA receives and distributes up to one million brand new donated books and educational resources annually to 19 countries. This
is a new position that offers an individual with inventory, accounting,
audit, and global supply chain warehouse experience the opportunity to
contribute to BFA’s mission to improve the quality of information and
life in developing Asia. A successful candidate will understand the financial as well as supply chain aspects of Books for Asia’s warehouse operations. The
Associate performs all duties associated with inventory management and
control, database integrity, data analysis, and financial recording and
reporting. High
level of responsibility that mixes office and warehouse environments in
the San Francisco Bay Area with opportunity to liaise with staff across
Asia. Great
opportunity for a junior warehouse inventory associate or financial

REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE:
A
minimum of 3 years previous work experience in a major warehouse,
fulfillment or distribution environment. In addition, minimum of 2 years
of experience in the role of finance/inventory control analyst and
experience in auditing and accounting related to supply chain management
operations. Ability to perform cycle counts and reconcile inventory.
Ability to work in supply chain management software and MS excel
comfortably to analyze data and trends across multiple warehouse
locations. Must possess ability to take direction and to work
independently under general supervision.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s
degree, preferably with concentration in computer science, accounting,
business administration, or supply chain management.
Preferred Experience:
• Previous lead experience with warehouse audits
• Extensive experience with supply chain management databases; advanced Excel skills
• Inventory accounting background
• Experience with book ISBN and title organization
• Lean warehouse or other continuous improvement experience
• First Aid, CPR and Safety Certified
• Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Forklift certified
• Experience working with temporary labor staffing
