Advocates for Youth (Advocates) is pleased to announce an exciting
opportunity for youth-serving and/or youth-led organizations based in
Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean to partner with Advocates for Youth to
implement programs that seek to improve young people’s sexual and
reproductive health and rights. Advocates for Youth is an international
non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, dedicated to advancing
programs and policies that support young people’s sexual and
reproductive health and rights.
Advocates hosts an International Youth
Activist Network (iYAN) through which it provides information, training,
and technical assistance to youth-serving organizations and youth
activists working to improve young people’s sexual and reproductive
health and rights in low- and middle-income countries.
What organizations are eligible to apply?
To be eligible to apply, organizations must:
- Be a national or community-based organization based in Asia, Africa, and/or the Caribbean
- Have a strong commitment to sexual and reproductive health and rights and human rights
- Have a strong interest in advancing the sexual and reproductive health and rights of all young people
- Have a strong desire to engage youth meaningfully in program design and implementation and to foster youth leadership and youth-adult partnerships
- Have an office space out of which the organization functions on a daily basis
- Have access to the internet
- Have an established organizational bank account
- Be willing to work collaboratively
- Have a strong interest in building expertise in technical areas supported by Advocates for Youth through the partnership
What are the criteria for selection?
Applications will be evaluated based on the following:
- Realistic and clear articulation of proposed project goal, objectives, expected outcomes and activities that respond to a need in the community
- Clear articulation of existing expertise and technical assistance and capacity building interests
- Consistency of proposed project with Advocates’ mission and philosophy of Rights. Respect. Responsibility. ®
- Demonstrated interest in improving young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights
- Clear commitment to meaningful youth engagement and human rights
