Welcome to the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) program of the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas
at the University of Texas at Austin. This is the first program of its
kind specializing in journalism. Launched in October 2012, this Knight
Center initiative has offered eight MOOCs that have reached more that
36,000 people from over 150 countries
Learn from some of the best
investigative journalism instructors in the United States. This massive
open course is entirely online. Anyone from anywhere in the world can
take this MOOC for free. The course opens on May 12, 2014 and ends June 15, 2014.
It aims to provide journalists, media practitioners and the general
public with knowledge about conducting investigative reporting. Students
will be introduced to professional reporting techniques, ethical
considerations and effective presentation of the investigative story.
The course is taught by four experts in the area of investigative
journalism: Brant Houston, Steve Doig Michael Berens and Lise Olsen.
