In Cambodia, NTFP-EP works in partnership and alliance with up to 20 NGOs and community based and indigenous peoples organizations and networks, and with over 100 NGOs and community based organizations regionally, in South and Southeast Asia. NTFP-EP works in particular to equip forest peoples in (re)building, maintaining and multiplying their support systems in sustainable forest management and livelihoods through practical, community based interventions and strategies. Such strategies include networking, knowledge and experience exchange, technical support in community based projects and enterprises, capacity building, advocacy and policy support, and documentation and dissemination of traditional and indigenous ecological knowledge. The Cambodia programme of the Non-Timber Forest Products Exchange Programme (NTFP-EP) for South and Southeast Asia is looking for a dynamic, creative and self-starting individual who is also committed to social entrepreneurship and sustainable and community based development. A position as BUSINESS MANAGER for a Cambodian fair trade and marketing start-up is now open. The earliest start for the position is February 20, 2014.

NatureWild is a social enterprise start-up whose business is to market high quality eco-wild products from Cambodia that meets the needs of green-conscious consumers and communities managing sustainable community enterprises.
In the initial year, working closely together with the EDC and NTFP-EP Enterprise Adviser, the BM will have the main responsibility for the business development and start-up of NatureWild. In particular, h/she will:
- Develop the NatureWild business strategy and plan
- Investigate and execute all requirements of business establishment and start-up operations
Marketing and Sales Development & Management
- Develop action plans to meet target annual sales.
- Develop and manage marketing/sales activities of products and/or services to CBNE and EDP partners and/or private firms doing NTFP business.
- Manage the development of short- and long-term objectives and recommends goals to higher management based on NatureWild business plan.
- Be responsible to be updated on market information and trends of related products.
- Maintain and update key marketing/sales contacts with both domestic and international markets.
- Responsible for managing all Business Acquisition Process (BAP) activities related to the capture of new business.
- Advice higher management on status or action required in connection with existing and potential sales programs.
- Assist in the formulation of advertising campaigns and approves publicity releases and promotional activities.
- Prepare articles for NatureWild website and produce a trimestral draft newsletter in liaison with the EDC and NTFP-EP Communication Officer
- Manage the production of publicity leaflets and other publicity materials
- Represent NatureWild at exhibitions and other events where NatureWild has a conference stand, as required
- Network with relevant organizations and companies to implement the business goals of NatureWild.
- Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of NatureWild mission, specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and planning, completing an operations manual.
- Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems and controls.
- Oversee budget management and the production management accounts and financial reports
- Oversee the production reports on raw materials purchasing and finished products producing expenditures and income projection reports
- Contribute to the development of operation and financial policies and procedures to ensure the effective management of NatureWild
- Manage contracts, tendering arrangements and ongoing relationships with suppliers and buyers
- Ensure NatureWild office and shop are effectively managed on a day-to-day basis
- Ensure NatureWild’s website is updated regularly.
- Translation of documents English-Khmer, Khmer-English as needed.
- Keeps Naturewild files, reports and monitoring records readily accessible, complete, updated and orderly
- Other reasonable and appropriate tasks as requested by the EDC, colleagues and partners
- Work closely with the EDC to monitor NaturWild’s performance against business objectives and targets using impact monitoring report (IMR) as monitoring and report tools to track progress against targets and prepare regular reports for the EDC.
- Prepare financial reports
- Managing the process and contributing to the development of business annual plans/reports, budgets and targets
- Organize and facilitate annual Board of Advisers meeting
- Supervise and coach marketing/sale staff on a weekly basis.
- Develop periodic plants with staff on activities and monitor implementation
- Conduct annual evaluation of staff performance and provide recommendation for staff strengthening.
- Hire temporary staff when needed for production or relevant activities.
- Participates in NTFP-EP monthly staff meetings
- Participates in other relevant NTFP-EP/CNWG activities
- At least 4 years experience in enterprise / business development and management working with NGOs or business sector
- Have demonstrated capacity in business management or marketing
- College graduate preferably with educational background in business management, marketing or other related courses
- Possesses strong communication, persuasion and management skills
