WHY TO ATTEND THE WORKSHOP ON PROJECT MANAGEMENT?
The word of “Project Management” is well known everywhere in the world, especially in developing countries like Cambodia through the works of development agencies, including MFIs’ and banks’, L/INGOs’, Government’s projects. Every projects/programs are developed to serve the development and improvement of social growth in terms of economic and spiritual development of a society, community, or country. Many people are employed to design, implement and monitor, and evaluate the projects, and they have been working and learning hard on the/from projects/programs that are being implemented by themselves or and others, so as to improve the quality of their work (project). But however, there are lots of things and challenges need to be learned in the process of project management because development and changes is never end. Therefore, to sharpen our knowledge in related project management through any kind of events (training, workshop, seminar, conference, etc) is the best way to make our project management skill improved and lead to a successful of project implementation. Learning is never end!

Now, LIFE is organizing a two-day workshop on how to make your project management skill enhanced effectively. LIFE has invited the experienced trainer (theory and practical) to facilitate the two-day workshop for you (selected participant). He has rich of experience in management and leadership roles (Country Representative of an INGO in Cambodia, and Program Manager Position for 5 different INGOs), full experienced in managing integrated projects for holistic community development program in rural and urban areas, for almost 15 years through working with 6 different International Non-Governmental Organizations. He has specialized in leadership, project/program design and implementation management, strategic plan development, community assessment and project evaluation, and facilitating skill – also, he has equipped with in-depth knowledge and understanding on Gender & Development, Child Right Participation and Protection, Development Vs Environment Protection,  and Concept of Right-Based Approach and Need-Based Development Approach. He experienced in internationally and internally attending the several training, workshop, conference, field visit, and studies on related his field of work and studies – to overseas, he have been in Switzerland, France, Sweden, Denmark, Tanzania, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal, Loa PDR. Also, he experienced in lecturing for Master Program at university, providing training service for NGOs, and conducting assessment and evaluation for NGO’s projects. He owned the Master Degree in International & Development Studies from Geneva; the Certificate of Advanced Studies for Housing Development & Management (HDM) from LUND University of Sweden; and the Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management from MVU of Cambodia.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

• To provide basic knowledge to the participants about the concepts and techniques of successful project management.
• To make the participants familiar with project environment by thinking critically about project management principles and to apply them within the context of the real world.
• To enable the participants to understand the qualities of successful project manager, the reasons that project managers succeed, and the reasons that they fail.
• To build and develop the level of confidence and decision making of the participants through analysis of cases and exercises relevant to several projects.

OUTLINE OF THE WORKSHOP
I. What tasks/things are to be developed and managed in project management process?

• Understanding on concept or theory of project management
• Understanding on key tasks and elements of project management
• Understanding on how to design a project/program
• Understanding on what tools are to be used to make your designed project/program effectively and efficiency implemented

II. How to lead people/your team to implement your designed projects succeed effectively?

• Understanding on why manager and why leader
• Basic principle of being manager and leader
• Why a designed project/program is to be managed and led by a good team player? How?
• Establishing a project/program development – assignment
• Role playing on project implementation management

TRAINING METHODOLOGY
This is an active workshop designed for selected participants to learn and share experience on related project management. Both participant and trainer will be animated to participate in the agenda of the training. The trainer will do the best to promote the full participation of participants in asking related questions and contributing related ideas or experience during the training. The principle of our training facilitation method is participant-centre and oriented result or experience based learning and sharing approaches. To make our facilitation methods run smoothly, there are some tools will be used during the training; including (a) slides presentation, (b) idea/comment contribution and group discussion, (c) roles play, and (d) handouts for filling and reference.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP?
This workshop is designed for both who have experience and no experience in project management, but they intend to enhance their knowledge in order to make their capability improved in project management skill. Those are from sector of nonprofit (L/INGOs), profit (businessman), government, and university student – and, for all level of positions, such as officer (supervisee), manager (supervisor), director, and non-title position (student).
