“Teuk Saat 1001” is a
Cambodian non-governmental organization created as an offshoot of a safe
drinking water supply project in rural area in partnership with the French
NGO “1001 fontaines pour demain”. The first stage of the initiative started
in 2005, in North West Cambodia. There are currently 50 sites in Battambang, Banteay Meanchey and Siem
Reap. And more than 30 sites in the 4 differences provinces (Kandal, Kampong
Cham, Prey Veng and Kampong Speu). These 80 sites provide more than 100,000 people daily with
safe drinking water.

Mission |
The mission and vision of “TEUK SAAT 1001” is to improve the health of rural people through the initiative to create safe drinking water service in a sustainable manner.
The
proposed objective of our non-profit association is to empower rural
communities by enabling them to produce guaranteed quality of drinking water

Approximately 1,000 full-time jobs will be created out of this program.
With these 250 water
treatment will able to provide a daily safe drinking water from 1,3 to 1,5
million liter.
The objective of Project Carbone is to obtain certification for 1001 fontaines and Teuk Saat, so that they are granted Gold Standard Carbon Emission Reduction (CER) units, which can be traded on the relevant markets worldwide and, thereby, provide an annual source of funding for 1001 fontaines and Teuk Saat. The process for granting CERs is governed by a United Nations protocol entitled the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), which is defined in the Kyoto Protocol on climate change. TEUK SAAT 1001 is seeking a project manager to work with 1001Fontaines manager to run Project Carbone on site in Cambodia for a period of 6 months.
