JOB OPPORTUNITY: Lab Officer
“TeukSaat 1001” is a Cambodian non-governmental organization created as an offshoot of safe drinking water supply project in rural area in partnership with the French NGO “1001 fontaines pour demain”. The first stage of the initiative started in 2005, in North West Cambodia, and has achieved to date the implementation of 50 operating sites in Battambang, BanteayMeanchey and Siem Reap provinces. These sites provide more than 50,000 people daily with safe drinking water. “TeukSaat 1001” is committed to act as a service platform for all production sites of safe water and as a project to set-up new safe water production sites
Mission
The mission of “TeukSaat 1001” is to implement sustainable improvement in the health of people living in isolated communities. The proposed objective of our non-profit association is to empower rural communities by enabling them to produce and guarantee quality of drinking water at an affordable price, based on a social enterprise business model, which ensures that they are self-sufficient and reach the largest number of beneficiaries.
Context
We finished the first stage of the initiative concentrated on the rural regions of North West Cambodia and to date 50 operating sites have been implemented and managed by the first platform base in Battambang. “1001 fontaines” initiative is about to roll-out the solution in different areas of Cambodia by installing 200 production sites by 2016 managing by 3 or 4 platform. “TeukSaat 1001” is seeking a qualified Cambodian to fill the position of Lab Officer

Duties of candidate
Under the responsibility of Water Quality Manager of “TeukSaat 1001”, S/he will be due to
- Water quality control methodology
- In charge of the laboratory maintenance and prepare the inventory
- water analysis
- Consumable and reagent management
- Quality control project by follow-up on sites
- Train the team of water field test kits
- Follow up the quality documentation for water quality control
- External water analyses follow up
- Participate the implementation of new quality project
- Reports the result of water analysis to the Technical and Quality
- Cambodian Nationality
- Associate Degree (BST) in chemistry, Food technology and chemistry and other related field
- at least 2 years of working experience of water quality control
- Have experiences in working in the laboratory
- Ability to analyses information, prepare plans and reports
- Be willingness to travel and stay at the production sites.
- Good English language writing and speaking, French is a plus.
- Honest and responsible attitude; committed to achieving the program objectives
- Computer literacy in Word, Excel and Power Point
