Pour un Sourire d'Enfant (PSE) is a French non-profit making organization which has been established since 1996. PSE employs more than 500 dedicated staff. It provides technical and vocational education, nutrition, health care, protection & shelter, general education and community development to underprivileged students. Due to rapid growth of existing and new programs, PSE is seeking for a potential candidate for a vacant position of Sihanouk Ville External School Officer (01 post), based in Sihanouk Ville.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with social department team to analyze and decide community children into External School Programs
- Facilitate enrollment and integration of all PSE children in Sihanouk Ville to the public school timely
- Follow up and record student absence and study progress/quality at their schools
- Provide and control all materials and logistics to students (uniforms, pens, books…)
- Design and follow up supplementary or intensive classes for poor academic students accordingly
- Visit students at their village on the basis of absence, drop out, trouble-making or others
- Call for and arrange a discipline committee meeting when necessary
- Enter student absence, student information or score statistics into the database
- Provide a good communication and relation with school directors, teachers and other ngos
- Write a report for a supervisor
Requirements
- Minimum bachelor's degree in Teaching, Community Development, Management, or other related fields
- Minimum 1 year experience in social work, community development, teaching or other related experience
- Demonstrate willingness to work with community people and vulnerable children
- Strong communication, facilitation and problem solving skills
- Be dynamic and patient
- Self- interest in driving and visiting community families and target schools regularly
- Be able to communicate in English; French is a plus
- Computer literacy Ms. Office ( Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Applicants staying/ living in Sihanouk Ville is strongly prioritized
