| Description | Deadline for Applications is June 4, 2013 Director, Economic Governance Program The Asia Foundation, is seeking a Director Economic Governance Programs for its Sri Lanka office. The Director Economic Governance manages the Foundation’s AusAID funded Local Economic Governance (LEG) program and other related economic and business policy reform programs in Sri Lanka. The Director will be responsible for all aspects of program development, implementation, evaluation and grants administration of economic governance programs carried out by the Foundation in Sri Lanka. The Director will also be expected to play an innovative and entrepreneurial role in expanding the Foundation’s economic and business policy reform programs. The Director leads the Foundation’s public relations and fundraising strategy in the business and economic policy field. REQUIREMENTS Experience - Minimum ten years of senior management experience working on economic reform/local governance projects in an international organization, donor agency, private sector institution, local NGO or university; - Excellent communications, presentation, organizational and writing skills is essential; - Demonstrated understanding of the functioning of the private sector, economic reform processes, and the needs of small and medium enterprises; - Knowledge of the politics, legal system, economics, and culture of Sri Lanka and the region. - Experience in managing large teams and fostering a culture of consensus building Education - Graduate degree in economics or the social science. Other - Understanding of the effective use of social accountability tools and practices. - Experience working with chambers of commerce and trade associations helpful; - Technical knowledge on approaches to private-public dialogues is desirable; Working ability in Tamil or Sinhala and experience or knowledge of South Asia, particularly Sri Lanka is strongly preferred; - Computer proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets TO APPLY Click on the "Apply on-line" link below.
