Primary Education – PE
Medical Doctor
As a member of the Primary Education and Basic Health Care for
Children and Indigenous Children in Cambodia the
Medical Doctors are in charge of providing basic medical attention to
pre-school and primary school children.
The medical doctors will work under
the direct supervision of the Education Program Manager in close collaboration
with other colleagues as well as autonomously. One position is based in Kompong
Chhnang province with Boribor & Tuek Phos districts as main target areas
and one position in Mondolkiri province with Pech Chreada and Sen Monorom
districts as main target areas.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic medical check-up to pre-school and primary school children on a daily basis.
- Refer children who are ill to the most appropriate health institution providing a detailed diagnostic.
- Maintain accurate and up to date medical records of each child.
- Assist in the implementation of information campaigns to raise awareness of local population on health issues.
- Prepare and transmit timely to the Program Manager all reports (weekly), data and other necessary documentation according to the criteria requested by NH, donors and/or the government.
- Establish and maintain effective network and partnership with local authorities (from village to province level, including schools, DOE and POE) and International and National NGOs.
- Establish good relationships and collaborate with all stakeholders.
- Assist the Program Manager and other management team members in any other tasks as requested.
Requirements
- Medical Doctor degree.
- Specialty in pediatrics is a strong asset.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in diagnosis and treatment of children.
- Good communication & presentation skill with ability to establish fruitful relationships with beneficiaries.
- Patience, tolerance, flexibility and commitment to working with disadvantaged people in remote areas.
- Honest, team worker with strong ethical values, sense of responsibility and demonstrated accountability.
- Motorbike driving skills and valid driver’s license is desirable.
- Be able to communicate in Khmer is a prerequisite.
- Be able to communicate in English is an asset.
Salary and Benefits
- Monthly compensation of $US 700
Contract Period
- Service type contract for a period of 5 months (starting date : February 2013)
