Head Chef

Mith Samlanh is a Cambodian led non-government organization committed to working with Cambodian street children and their families and communities.

Daily Mith Samlanh provides vocational training, education, counseling, food, shelter, medical services and various outreach programs to 1,800 street children and youths in Phnom Penh.

Mith Samlanh is running a Vocational Training Program at Romdeng and Friends Restaurant in Phnom Penh. Besides providing superb service to its clients, the restaurants are a place where street youth is being trained in hospitality.

Mith Samlanh is seeking a qualified Cambodian candidate to fill a position of Head Chef to work at Friends the Restaurant/Romdeng in Phnom Penh.

HEAD CHEF POSITION will be responsible for:

• Preparing Local, Asian and international dishes
• Ensure quality, consistency and timeliness of all food and beverages
• Manage every aspects of a kitchen: purchases, food storage, cooking, cleaning according to hygiene international standards
• Manage and train the kitchen team and ensure the safety of the working environment
• Design menus and specials each time necessary and train the team
• Calculate food and beverage costing
• Supervise a brigade of chef teachers and students.

Experiences and qualifications:

• At least 2 years experience in standard restaurant as Head Chef
• Knowledge of local, regional and international cuisine and general kitchen operations
• Willing to work as a team
• Good spoken and written English knowledge is mandatory
• Able to have excellent communication skills with staff and students

Location: This position is based in Phnom Penh
Duration: Full-time work
Salary remuneration: between $500-$750 per month based on experiences
