Consultant for
Evaluation
Background
Since 2010, NH is running a project in
the sector of education in the Province of Mondolkiri. The main goal of the
project is to improve living conditions among Phnong and Khmer families,
especially for children, in order to promote human capital. The specific
objective is to improve educational achievement of children by increasing
enrolment and survival rates in primary cycle and decreasing prevalence of
malnutrition and common diseases.
The
expected outcomes of the project are:
- Increased school enrolment and completion rate
- Skills training to improve quality of teaching
- Improved hygiene and sanitation of children and their families
- Food security for children and their families
Overall purpose of the consultancy
The evaluation of the social impact of
the Primary Education and Basic
Health Care for Children and Indigenous Children in Cambodia Project carried out by New Humanity Cambodia
in partnership with Intervita Cambodia since 2010 in the districts of Pech
Chreada and Sen Monorom in the Province of Mondolkiri; and the districts of
Boribor, Tuek Phos and Kompong Chhnang in the Province of Kompong Chhnang.
Results expected
- Measure the achievements of the project against its objectives based on first hand information from the beneficiaries and direct observation.
- Analyze the beneficiaries’ perceptions and interests regarding the project activities.
- Analyze the challenges faced by ethnic minorities regarding the right of inclusive education.
- Identify and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the project activities in relation to the project objectives.
- Make recommendations on changes/adjustments to the project.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences or related field
- Experience in consultancy work related to project evaluation
- Experience working with ethnic minorities
