Caring for Cambodia (CFC) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that works with government schools in the Siem Reap area to improve the quality of education in accordance with the objectives of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport (MoEYS).
CFC currently works with five primary schools, two lower secondary schools, and one lower and upper secondary school. We also have an early childhood education program in the communities around our primary schools. CFC provides training, salary subsidies, and performance-based bonuses to government school teachers utilizing Cambodian teacher trainers and mentor teachers as well as teams of international teacher trainers. CFC’s extracurricular support includes two meals a day at primary schools, campus improvements, student activities, and health support. For more information, please see www.caringforcambodia.org.

Salary: $150 monthly
CFC is currently seeking a Program Manager for Student Activities who will manage and coordinate student involvement in extracurricular programs and projects. His or her objective is to promote a positive student culture on CFC campuses and ensure student involvement in these programs benefits the student and the school.
Duties
- Further develop CFC’s support of student councils at primary and secondary schools by…
o Encouraging students and teacher to fulfill the 8 areas of student council
o Assisting student council members to create plans for each of the 8 areas
o Providing feedback and encouragement to student councils about plan implementation
o Organizing inter-school student council events
- Identify student needs on CFC campuses and develop new projects and programs under the guidance of the Country Director and Deputy Country Director.
- Support other staff on the Extracurricular Programs Team:
village rambles, pen pals, field trips, and special workshops. Occasionally meet groups at Food for
Thought and give campus tours as needed.
o Work with CFC Nurse to coordinate student council health-related activities.
o Assist Career Prep Program at Bakong High School for special events and activities, such as site
visits, speakers, Career Day, etc as needed.
- Report to the Deputy Country Director, provide monthly reports, and weekly updates.
- Communicate regularly via email, using Google docs and calendars as needed.
- Provide translation and interpretation for teacher training and extracurricular programs as needed, along with other bilingual staff.
Requirements
- Interest in working with teachers and students and an understanding of the school process
- Cambodian national with strong English language skills, both written and verbal, and fluent in Khmer
- Friendly, professional attitude toward people from all cultures and backgrounds
- Belief in CFC’s mission to improve the quality of education in Cambodia
- Comfortable with email, MS Word, MS Excel, willing to learn other programs and online applications
- Willingness to travel between schools, including schools in Prasat Bakong
- Positive, cooperative, and flexible attitude and eagerness to acquire new skills
- Ability to work well with CFC staff and volunteers
