What are GTUGs?
GTUGs are user groups for people who are interested in Google’s developer technologies. They are founded and organized by local developers in cities around the world – you don’t have to be a Google employee to start or attend one.
Why pre-Startup Weekend bootcamps will improve Startup Weekend events:
During a Startup Weekend event there isn’t a lot of time for attendees to learn and implement new technologies. By partnering with GTUGs, we can leverage experienced and knowledgeable members of those communities to teach Startup Weekend attendees. The goal is to teach these developers about a new technology, platform, service, or API.
Who should attend?
Programmers, Networking System Administrator, IT Technical, IT students, and the ones who involved in using new technologies and new computer systems.
What topics we recommend you cover:
The primary goal of the bootcamp is to provide information on topics that developers can use for their project during Startup Weekend. Try to avoid subjects that are too complex to appropriately cover in a day. Good examples of topics to cover are:
- Google App Engine
- Overview of interesting Google APIs
- Introduction to Android
- Developing for Chrome
