About the Training Course:
Animal feed business is seen lucrative, as some family scale enterprises have already proved successful. Animal feed is an important component of livestock industry, yet the country does not produce enough to supply the current local market demand. About 60% of the feed is produced domestically, while roughly 40% of the feed is imported from foreign countries to meet the country's demand when livestock industry is growing hard to cater to the need of protein intakes, majority of which are from livestock. In addition to domestic production, now animal feed is increasingly produced locally by communities and small-family scale enterprises to feed their own livestock and the move has proved fruitful and lucrative. As a result, our training course is opened to provide a training on animal feed production so as to boost livestock industry and reduce dependency on import of feed and thus improve overall economic well-beings of the country.
Field Visits and Practices:
- A field visit to an outlet selling animal feed facilities and machines
- A field visit to an animal feed production factory for learning how to assemble machines and produce feed
- A field visit to a livestock farm in which animals are fed with locally produced feed
