Health Program Officer, Takeo and Kg. Chhnang province
DESCRIPTION
People in Need (PIN), an international NGO, seeks
applications from pro-active, organised and responsible candidates for the position
of Health Program Officer (HPO).
The HPO will
support PIN’s health program which works on improvement of maternal and child
health in Takeo and Kampong Chnnang Provinces. The program provides technical,
material and capacity building support to local health centers.
The HPO will support health program activities in Takeo province,
especially midwife training and community health education campaigns. The work
will involve co-operation with implementing NGO and government partners,
planning, supervision, monitoring and reporting of activities. S/he will
furthermore take responsibility for ensuring the smooth operation of activities
in Kg. Chhnang incl. supervision, monitoring and liasing regularly with the
Program Manager.

Salary Range
380 – 580 USD, fully depending on
candidate’s experience
Responsibilities
- Oversee and monitor program activities in Kg. Chhnang Province
- Provide organizational support for training and awareness-raising activities in Takeo Province
- Establish and maintain an orderly and feasible work plan
- Attend relevant PHD, OD, Health Program meetings and other relevant meetings to participate, record discussions and share PIN activities.
- Develop and maintain contacts with local stakeholders and local authorities
- Support partners in effective delivery of project activities
- Participate in the program development incl. assessments, data collection etc.
- Communicate regularly with Program Manager on progress, status and statistics from program activities
- Help with weekly and monthly budget and activity planning
- Take on additional tasks as and when required by the Program Manager and Program Coordinator
Mandatory Requirements
- Fluent spoken and written English (candidates with limited English will not be considered)
- At least 5 years experience in implementing or coordinating project activities
- Experience in working on maternal and child health programs with NGOs is a strong advantage
- Experience with hygiene promotion is a strong advantage
- Experience in providing training, ToT and follow-up
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, MS Outlook, internet research)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel frequently by motorbike, at times over long distances
- Strong interpersonal skills
Desired Requirements
- University degree in health or development-related discipline
- Good presentation and explanation skills
- Experience working with government staff
- Familiarity with Takeo and/or Kg. Chhnang Province
