People in Need
(PIN), an international NGO, seeks applications from experienced and motivated
candidates for the position of Field Officer (FO). In total 3 FOs will be recruited.
FO will work in Kampong Chhnang province on
the recovery of poor people’s livelihoods which were affected by 2011 floods. FO
will be responsible for facilitating short-term job opportunities for the
poorest households, for organizing agricultural trainings, enabling people to
recover their livelihoods activities and for supporting their access to clean
water.

Position
Field Officer
Location
Kampong Chhnang province (mainly Rolea P’hear and Kg. Tralach districts)
Schedule
Full time position; duration: 8-9 months
Salary range
220-380 USD, fully depending on candidate’s qualification
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the organization of short-tem job opportunities for the poorest households
- Organize agricultural trainings
- Support poorest households to develop simple business plan specifying how they want to develop/ recover their livelihoods
- Advise people on accessing good-quality agricultural inputs
- Cooperate with the health centers on organization of health education campaigns
- Cooperate with the authorities at Provincial Health Department and Department of Agriculture
- Collect information from the target areas, provincial authorities and NGOs
- Assist in coordination with other stakeholders
- Report regularly on the progress to PIN’s Project Coordinator
- Ensure appropriate project visibility
- Translate simple documents from Khmer to English and English to Khmer
- Assist with other project-related tasks
Requirements
- Ability to enter the position as soon as possible is a strong advantage
- At least 3 years of working experience with rural communities (organizing community meetings, trainings etc.)
- University degree in Agriculture, Rural Development or related expertise is an advantage
- Experience in organizing hygiene promotion campaigns is an advantage
- Good interpersonal skills (in communication at the community level and with the government staff)
- Honest and reliable person with positive and responsible attitude to work
- Fluent spoken and written English and Khmer (candidates with poor English will not be considered)
- Very good organizational skills including strong attention to detail
- Competent use of Windows Office (Word, Excel)
- Willingness to travel extensively on a motorbike
- Familiarity with Kampong Chhnang province is an advantage
