Position: Consultant for the development of a business strategy to build business opportunities within the private sector – Damnok Toek, Cambodia
Location: Cambodia Duration: 6 – 12 months
Starting date: as soon as possible
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
GEcsn is a network that brings together local NGOs with the aim of improving the lives of vulnerable Cambodian children, their families, and their communities. Our core business is transferring knowledge and know-how, but we also make financial contributions and link local NGOs with Western donors.
GEcsn sustains Damnok Toek, an NGO working in Cambodia since 1997 with the aim of supporting vulnerable children such as street children, children with handicap, and trafficked children. The final objective of Damnok Toek is to reintegrate children in their families or their community after giving them the means to build their own independent life.
The Income generating program:
Damnok Toek is currently running small activities to generate income and use them to cover its budget. DT wants to further develop this program with the objective of reducing external contributions to its budget toward self sustainability. Moreover, by developing the IG program, DT has the objective to involve target children and their families, to give them a working occasion and help them to reintegrate in the society.

Job description
- Design and submit to the Board of GEcsn a business development plan (including finances and human resources);
- Strengthen the existing Income Generating Activities;
- Start new business programs.
Requirements
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Proven working experience in the private sector, preferably in business development.
- A strong interest in contributing to a non profit organisation
- Flexibility and calm under pressure.
- Capacity and interest to work in a multicultural environment with sensitivity and respect for cultural differences.
- Good team worker, able to work closely with a team under pressure.
- Capacity to work on own initiative.
