Job Profile
The joint office of CAFOD, SCIAF and Trócaire (CST) based in Addis
Ababa, Ethiopia, is currently looking for a Capacity-Building Technical
Adviser to enhance NGO representation, participation and leadership in
the humanitarian system, including coordination meetings, pooled funds,
and high-level fora. This falls under the NGOs and Humanitarian Reform Project Phase 2
(NHRP), which is lead by the Capacity-Building Technical Adviser, with
support from CST, CAFOD and Trócaire humanitarian colleagues.
Your role
You will be working to strengthen structures, capacity and skills for
NGOs to assume greater active membership and leadership functions in
humanitarian fora. A large part of your role will be to strengthen the
in-country coordination mechanisms, and ensure necessary coordination of
the NHRP project internationally. Your responsibilities will also
include financial management, weekly and monthly reporting, as well as
networking and relationship building.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with substantial experience in humanitarian response and humanitarian policy/advocacy. You should have proven understanding and experience of advocacy and policy work within complex humanitarian contexts. You should be able to collaborate with consortiums, partners, donors and government to achieve the best balance between our mission and their objectives. Furthermore, we expect you to have strong analytical and information gathering skills as well as being able to demonstrate budget management skills.Please note that the post is pending Government Approval.
