Project Manager/Psychologist at Transcultural Psychosocial Organization Cambodia (TPO)_Deadline: 31-Dec-2011

The Transcultural Psychosocial Organisation Cambodia (TPO Cambodia) is one of the leading non-governmental organizations in the field of mental health in Cambodia.  TPO was awarded a grant by the EUROPEAN UNION (EU) to implement a project in partnership withLICADHO entitled “Prevent Torture and Improve Prison Conditions in Cambodia“.

TPO is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the following vacancy. The purpose of the position is tomanage the project and to provide effective psychological interventions to prison inmates and clients of TPO's Treatment Centre.

Project Manager/Psychologist (based in Phnom Penh)

Responsibilities:

Management:

• Manage, oversee and coordinate the operations and procedures within the “Prevent Torture and Improve Prison Conditions in Cambodia“ project to ensure effective project implementation and service delivery;
• Liaise with LICADHO, prisons officials and other agencies;
• Monitor the project implementation and produce quarterly and annual reports;
• Develop and coordinate work plans for project staff.

Clinical tasks:

• Provide psychological interventions to inmates in target prisons and clients of TPO's Treatment Centre and their families (screening, assessment, counseling, self-help groups, etc.);
• Contribute to the development of clinical instruments, handbooks and Information and Education Material;
• Participate in supervision, case discussions, case conferences and internal and external capacity building;
• Manage the client's data in the electronic database.

Training:

• Contribute to the development of a training curriculum for prison inmates.
• Assist in providing trainings to prison inmates.

Requirements:

• Degree in psychology/clinical psychology/social work; Master’s degree preferred
• At least 3 years experience in project management
• At least 5 years experience in clinical work/psychosocial interventions/social work
• At least 2 years experience in planning and conducting trainings
• Fluency in spoken and written English, excellent in Khmer writing
• Be committed to work with clients and prison inmates
• Be willing to travel and stay overnight in the provinces.
