In line with IFAD’s commitment to amplify the debate on rising
food prices and how to achieve global food security, this training
workshop will focus on journalists in countries where IFAD operates, to
enhance their skills required to cover the issues facing the rural
people and their communities and bring these to the attention of policy
and decision makers, both nationally and regionally. Journalists will
attend a three day session in Dhaka, that will include a site visit to
an IFAD sponsored agricultural project. Workshops will look at issues
such as basic economics of food production, market access, competition
for resources, population movements and access to water. This is the
third workshop in a series of five running in 2011.
