Give2Asia seeks a Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (VP/CFO) to work in its San Francisco, CA office. Give2Asia is seeking a committed social entrepreneur with excellent financial management skills to help guide its continued growth and financial sustainability. Reporting to the president and working closely with the trustees and Give2Asia’s senior management team, the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer will help formulate and implement broad strategies as well as detailed business plans to realize our goal of making Give2Asia the premier organizational resource for the effective use of private philanthropy in addressing Asia’s social needs. The VP/CFO will be a leader and a team player; an entrepreneur and a manager; and a passionate advocate for private philanthropy.
As Chief Financial Officer, the VP/CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for overseeing annual and multi-year planning, implementation, management and control of all finance-related activities of Give2Asia, including
· Strategic budgeting, forecasting and planning
· Budget management, financial tracking, and reporting to the president and the Board of Trustees
· Annual audit preparation
· Facilitating and supporting meetings of the Audit and Investment Committees of the Board and such other Board committees or task forces as may be requested by the president
· Ensuring that electronic information and data management systems fully support Give2Asia’s evolving needs.
The Vice President and Chief Financial Officer will have regular interaction with Give2Asia’s president, trustees, and senior managers, as well as most Give2Asia constituents, including donors, grantees, fund advisors, philanthropic partners and consultants, as well as the broader philanthropic and financial services communities in Asia and the United States.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years experience, including at least 5 years in a relevant nonprofit or social enterprise context. Experience and familiarity with organizational accounting and financial management required. Gift and grant management experience preferred. Familiarity with social enterprises and social capital markets highly desirable.
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Arts degree in business, finance, or related field required. MBA or CPA preferred.
OTHER: Strong financial analysis skills, including use of Excel, database and other financial software, are essential. Excellent communications and organizational skills are a must, as is attention to detail, time management, effective delegation skills, and the ability to organize and supervise multiple concurrent projects and information flows. Familiarity with Asian development issues desirable but not required. Must thrive in an entrepreneurial environment while assuming increasing levels of responsibility.
