Banteay Srei is a Cambodian women’s non-government organisation that empowers vulnerable women to improve their political, economic and psycho-social situation through implementation of community development projects, advocacy work and encouraging men’s participation in addressing issues affecting women. We are now seeking for a qualified candidate to fill one position of Sustainable Livelihood Coordinator who will be based in Siem Reap and regularly travel to support the project in Battambang.
Responsibilities
Training
- Develops annual training plans and associated budget plans for both provincial programs
- Reviews existing curriculum/lessons or develops new materials for training purposes.
- Conducts training and coaching on all aspects of cooperatives and small/micro-enterprise.
- Writes brief reports and follow-up plans of all training conducted.
Field support and coaching
- Monitors implementation and outcomes following training to assess whether learning is put into practice; takes remedial actions as required.
- Provide assistance to beneficiaries to link with the appropriate microfinance institutions.
- Provides advisory support to the Team Leaders and Community Organisers as requested.
Networking and Coordination
- Cooperates with outsiders for technical supports on sustainable agriculture, Natural Resources Management, disaster preparedness and migration issues.
- Identifies and coordinates with other stakeholders to give support to the beneficiaries on marketing issues.
- Networks within specialist area with other agencies and relevant government bodies
- Coordinates with other Technical Team member and reports regularly to the Technical Team Manager.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education/Qualification
- Formal training or relevant certificate in micro-enterprise or microfinance.
- Has knowledge of natural resource management, disaster preparedness and migration issues.
- Good written and spoken English language skills
Skills/Experience
- Demonstration a strong skills in micro-enterprise and microfinance.
- At least two years experience in sustainable agriculture and livelihood development.
- Proven experience and skills in staff development, training of trainers, curriculum development and evaluating training effectiveness.
- Good computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Email/Internet.
- Ability to work within a team
