Job Title: Social Workers
(Based in Kampong Thom, Cambodian Nationals)
Transcultural Psychosocial Organisation (TPO Cambodia - a Local NGO) has been implementing Community Mental Health Programmes in Cambodia since 1995 in order to respond to the needs of mental health care for people in communities.
With the support from Louvain Développement (LD), a joint project has been designed aiming at connecting psychiatric approaches and community mental health work in Kampong Thom province. Hence we are looking for a qualified Cambodian to fill the position of Social Worker (1 vacancy) with the following requirements:
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Linking between the different levels of care (from hospital to community)
- Daily Support and regular counselling to persons with mental health problems and their family.
- Providing counselling sessions to people in need of help.
- Cooperation/collaboration with resource persons in the community, as well as with the medical staff.
- Awareness raising on mental health and psychosocial issues.
- Facilitating referral to appropriate persons or organisations.
- Regular home visits and follow-up of persons and/or families in need of support.
- Participating in networking with other relevant institutions and organisations implementing community projects in the target area.
Qualification and Skills:
- Understanding of the issues in social work and Experience in social work.
- Good team spirit.
- Taking initiatives and being creative.
- Good communication skills in linking with people.
- Computer skilled.
- Basic knowledge of mental health is an advantage.
