Bridges Across Borders Cambodia (BABC) is a grassroots international organization working to bring people together to overcome poverty, injustice and inequity in Cambodia. BABC builds bridges by raising awareness of the pressing issues faced by the people of Cambodia by facilitating people-to-people exchanges and by initiating and supporting local initiatives for social justice, inclusive development and the protection of human rights.
BABC believes that peace, sustainable development and human rights are interdependent and interrelated, and our work in Cambodia encompasses each of these facets. BABC is currently looking for a qualified Cambodian national to fulfill the position of Finance Assistant which is based in Phnom Penh.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial/Accounting:
o Understands and strictly adheres to BABC financial policies and procedures.
o Prepares Voucher Form of all financial transactions in central office.
o Makes data entry into Accounting System (Quick Book) and monitors every day cash balances and updates Cash and Bank Books.
o Coordinates the withdrawal and deposit of the money from and to the bank.
o Maintains the payroll and pay-slips, where each employee signs their name to acknowledge receipt of the payment.
o Oversees effectively cash control from day to day transactions and ensure cash needs from all BABC staff members for day to day operations.
o Supervises the cash transfers; holds and keeps petty cash in a good manner and counts it regularly in order to ensure the petty cash are recorded properly and correctly.
o Prepares monthly cash request for each program operations.
o Checks all receipts and invoices to ensure that the financial supporting documents have adequate information.
o Ensures all accounting reports and supporting documents are kept in appropriate files for future reference.
o Inputs number, coding, and enters each payment voucher of all expenses, records, and controls the flow of money transfers.
o Updates daily the cash income and expenses, prepares all accounting documents, and assists the Finance Manager with filling of financial documents.
o Checks outstanding cash advances and follows up with all BABC staff for collecting cash advanced vouchers and cash settlements from day to day works.
o Prepares, calculates and updates the accumulated salary tax and provident fund.
o Processes, records and issues cash to BABC staff and other partners for BABC businesses.
o Facilitates the audit of BABC financial records and implements the recommendation as appropriate.
o Generates monthly financial reports for BABC programs and send to the Finance Manager no later than 5 days after the end of each month
o Generates quarterly donor reports as required by donor agreements no later than 10 days after the end of each quarter.
o Participates in meetings as requested by supervisor;
o Attends regular staff meeting at Phnom Penh office
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
• A graduate or at least forth year student in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance or related field
• At least one year of accounting and finance experience.
• Knowledge of computerized financial systems, including Quick Books; Microsoft Office & Internet and E-mail.
• Ability to relate well and work with Management and Staff members
• Ability to communicate in English and Khmer

• Reliable and trustworthy person with good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and after-hours
