The International Republican Institute (IRI) is accepting applications from Cambodia’s most promising young
people to its Internship program.
The IRI Internship program offers qualified students the opportunity to acquire direct practical experience in IRI’s work under the direct supervision of experienced IRI staff. Internships may be part-time and are open to undergraduate and graduate students with a length of 12 weeks or longer. Interns will engage in a variety of substantive ongoing projects which include: political party programming and youth leadership development.
There will be multiple internship opportunities available and responsibilities will include but not limited to: administrative tasks, writing and analysis, and simple accounting. There will also be opportunities for capable selected interns to contribute their ideas to programs and take on additional responsibilities as they prove themselves capable.
Candidates for the Internship program must fulfill the following criteria:
- You must be a current undergraduate or graduate student in a field related to IRI’s work.
- Your academic performance should be outstanding as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
- Your application for an internship should be supported by your university or related institution. A minimum requirement is a letter from one of your professors supporting your application.
- You must have strong commitment to the values and principles of IRI’s mission, advancing democracy in Cambodia and demonstrated interest in the field of international development.
All applicants should have English proficiency as well as skills in IT, basic accounting and communication. Priority will be given to applicants with skills and prior experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Event Management
- Public Speaking
- Television Production and Journalism
- Social Research
- IT applications: Excel, SPSS, Graphic Design
- Accounting and Finance
Selected applicants will be given preference in competing for upcoming available employment opportunities
with IRI and partner organizations.
