NEED:
- Knowledge: Masters degree, or equivalent, in agriculture, agronomy, land use planning, natural resource management, or bioregional planning;
- Experience: 3 years of relevant experience in Cambodia
- Research and survey skills; Excellent planning and organizational skills; Fluency in written and spoken Khmer and English; Ability to communicate and work well with, and contribute effectively to a multicultural team; Ability to travel extensively; Very good skills in use of MS Word, Excel, Power Point
JD:
- Assist desk study on legal and policy framework for agricultural plantations and land access rights in Cambodia;
- Assist in reviewing and translating provincial procedures and policies on land allocation for agriculture, institutional capacity and roles of government agencies, provincial rural development committee (PRDC), provincial governor's office, and district/commune authorities;
- Facilitate all field activities in Mondulkiri;
- Communicate field missions to relevant government agencies and local authorities;
- Assist in inventory and mapping of current and planned agricultural plantations in Mondulkiri;
- Assist assessing and evaluating potential environmental and social impacts (detailed case studies) in selected priority sites in Mondulkiri;
- Assist in a provincial consultation workshop on agricultural plantation developments to present assessment results and develop a general strategy for improvement of land allocation capacity building and monitoring;
- Assist in facilitating the development of a sustainable agriculture strategy for WWF Cambodia including a detailed work plan and budget plan for Phase II of this project;
- Assist in submitting practical recommendations for further actions to provincial government and key responsible provincial departments;
- Act as a translator to the International Consultant.
