NEED:
- Bachelor or Diploma equivalent of social work and preferably psychological background is required;
- At least two year experience, performing as a social worker;
- Ability to take care of witness accommodation and the well-being of witnesses and to keep all work confidential;
- Strong coordination and organizational skills; In addition to speaking Khmer, good command of the English language in both writing and speaking; and Basic knowledge of computer skills,
- Microsoft Word and Excel; Ability to type Khmer
- Willingness to provide 24-hour assistance to witnesses and to travel to the provinces;
JD:
Under supervision of the Chief of Court Management, the incumbent will perform the following major duties:
- Maintain the well-being of witnesses, particularly vulnerable or threatened witnesses, and ensuring that all witnesses are comfortable and cared for during their stay in Phnom Penh/at the ECCC;
- Provide witnesses with information about, and assist them with, the facilities of their accommodation and meals.
- In conjunction with other Witness Assistants, provide 24-hour assistance to witnesses in the care of the ECCC’s Witness and Expert Support Unit (WESU) care. This means that during their shifts, Witness Assistants will be housed in the same accommodation units as the witnesses;
- Providing witnesses with up-to-date information about court-related issues (court schedules, movements, appointments, etc);
- Accompanying witnesses to and from Court when necessary
- Representing the interests of the witnesses within the structure of the ECCC, if at all for the interests of witnesses.
- Providing crisis intervention support to witnesses with respect to medical, psychological, or security needs;
- Referring witnesses to a specialist for psychosocial counselling, when necessary;
- Providing other WESU staff with logistical support related to the arrival, movement, and departure of witnesses;
- Update the Court on issues and conditions experienced by witnesses during their stay in Phnom Penh/at the ECCC
