The World Leadership Corps, a nonprofit service/learning organization based in on the idea that international volunteer service and cross-cultutal living can provide life-changing experience for future global leaders. The WLC recruits, trains, and deploys young people with outstanding potential for leadership, typically recent college graduates, from both developed and developing countries, for a wide variety of service assignments, including educational programs, literacy campaigns, and projects in economic development, public health, sustainable agriculture, and environmental.
An announcement concerning available positions in the program will be issued by the WLC office early in the new year. Check the WLC web site regularly for more information. Volunteers will serve outside of their home countries. WEC volunteers will typically possess:
- Self-reliance and openness to new challenges
- Strong leadership aptitude
- Proficiency in English, both oral and written
- Good foundation in computer/Internet skills
- Commitment to cross-cultural understanding
- Effective public-speaking skills
- Deep interest in service and helping others
- A college or university degree
- Good health and physically fitness
Volunteers are selected without regard to political or religious orientation. The WLC strives for a rich diversity in racial, ethnic, and national backgrounds, and seeks a general balance in the number of male and female volunteers. more
