We would like to encourage you to come out and volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro. We are building Tuesday through Saturday from 8am until 3pm.
You can come out yourself or enlist members of your congregation, neighborhood, service organization, school, friends, business or social organization to come out and join others who are working together to help make the "American Dream" of home ownership come true for some very deserving families. Homes at our sites are in various phases of completion so there is always a need for volunteers. Working together on a Habitat house with people of all faiths can be self-fulfilling as well as a great team-building experience.
If you have a group that is interested in working together on a specific task such as painting, roofing or siding, you might consider becoming part of a "crew" and be called upon when a house is to the point of needing your particular talent. You can get additional information on our Volunteer Groups page.
Volunteer opportunities are also available at our Re-Store on 3826 High Point Road. Their hours are Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Re-Store accepts donated items that are new or gently used for resale to the public. All proceeds go back into Habitat's home building program...
The first step in becoming a part of Habitat's mission is your desire, the second step is completing the Online Registration & Orientation, and third, call the Director of Volunteer Services at 275-4663 so that he might direct you to the appropriate site. If you have a child who is 14-18 years old who would like to participate, a Liability Waiver will need to be completed prior to their coming on the job site. Sorry, children under the age of 14 are not allowed on our construction sites. Website info
