The Maddox Jolie Pitt (MJP) in Battambang, Cambodia is supporting the implementation of the Millennium Villages Project. This 5-year project employs a community-based integrated development and conservation approach to help lift rural communities out of poverty while protecting their natural resources. MJP is currently seeking for a qualified Cambodian national to fill the position of Agriculture Coordinator. This position will be based in Battambang Province and Samlaut District.
NEED:
- At least 7-10 years field experience as an agricultural extension specialist;
- A demonstrated track record of achievement in the successful delivery of agricultural technologies and extension services;
- Proven ability to lead and motivate people and to have a proactive approach to ensure that systems and information flows are effective;
- A high level of initiative, creativity, judgment and service orientation;
- Very good skills in computer packages (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint);
- An MSc in an agriculture-related discipline or similar advanced qualifications or equivalent experience in agricultural extension;
- High proficiency in oral and written English
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight in the district.
JD:
- Plan, manage, coordinate, and ensure achievement of performance targets for all agricultural development activities of the Project;
- Assist the CD manager in project designed, planning, monitoring, and evaluation of the activities.• Develop, manage and nurture effective partnerships with national, district and other local government authorities responsible for agricultural extension;
- Develop, manage and nurture effective partnerships with NGOs, CBOs, private sector and donors that are active in the agriculture sector;
- Identify and promote proven agricultural technologies and support services that have the potential to increase productivity, diversification and income;
- Ensure close coordination with other sector leaders to capture synergies across sectors.
- Reporting: Prepare project information and article as required and report to the CD Manager, Country Project Manager and Executive Director.
