Senior Program Manager, Workforce Development
We are currently seeking a Senior Program Manager in Workforce Development for potential long term work in Sri Lanka. This work is to address disparities in economic development within countries by fostering economic growth in less developed regions through focus on livelihood development, workforce development, the promotion of agriculturally based value chains, and the development and maintenance of a business enabling policy environment. Possible start date is October 1, 2007, and duration would be a minimum of three years.
NEED:
- must have a minimum of ten years work experience in workforce development in Sri Lanka
- undergraduate degree in education, workforce development or relative field is required
- must be Sri Lankan citizen
- fluency in English and Tamil or Sinhala required work experience in north and east of Sri Lanka is required
- knowledge of USAID procedures and policies highly preferred
JD:
- manage all workforce development activities and staff, including those of institutional artners
- seek opportunities to strengthen vocational education centers
- develop a plan to fill gaps in curricula, teacher training needs, sustainability planning and career placement for graduates
- ensure project achieves monitoring and evaluation plan targets
- act as liaison to COP
