Senior Program Manager, Livelihood DevelopmentWe are currently seeking a Senior Program Manager in Livelihood Development for potential long term work in Sri Lanka. This work is to address disparities in economic development within countries by fostering economic growth in less developed regions through focus on livelihood development, workforce development, the promotion of agriculturally based value chains, and the development and maintenance of a business enabling policy environment. Possible start date is October 1, 2007, and duration would be a minimum of three years.
NEED:
- must have a minimum of ten years work experience in livelihood development
- undergraduate degree in finance, business, community development or related field is required
- must be Sri Lankan citizen
- fluency in English and Tamil or Sinhala required
- experience and strong understanding of community-based livelihood development in Sri Lanka required
- work experience in north and east of Sri Lanka is required
- knowledge of USAID procedures and policies highly preferred
JD:
- manage all livelihood development activities and staff, including those of institutional partners
- ensure project achieves plan targets
- encourage and assist war-torn populations in participating in livelihood activities, such as creating small businesses
- act as liaison to COP
