Abt Associates Inc. is recruiting an experienced professional for the position of Research Director for an exciting donor-funded social marketing project in Cambodia. This position includes providing technical inputs to develop quantitative and qualitative research instruments, sampling plans, and research/evaluation protocols; analyzing, writing and presenting research results to support to a Cambodian NGO in the area of HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, maternal health and child survival. We are looking for a Research Director based in Phnom Penh.
NEED:
- A Masters Degree (minimum) in marketing, business management or related field.
- Over 8 years of related professional experience in market research and or social research, communication development and testing, program evaluation and monitoring.
- Expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, and a good knowledge of research industry in Cambodia.
- Excellent communication and writing skills and ability to simplify and convey complex ideas and concepts.
JD:
- Advise program staff on research needs and options and develop research briefs accordingly.
- Collate information, analyze trends, validate information from different sources and develop graphic and written presentations for a variety of audiences.
- Provide technical inputs into developing quantitative and qualitative research instruments, sampling plans, and research/evaluation protocols; analyze, write and present research results.
- Oversee market research activities (client-centered market segmentation/nationally representative household surveys; price elasticity surveys; distribution surveys) from design through implementation and analysis/dissemination.
- Oversee selection and sub-contracting of appropriate research agencies.
- Manage and monitor contracted research agencies to ensure appropriate collection and analysis of data, adherence to schedules and work in accordance with the contract.
- Liaise with research agencies and update the project team with the latest market research techniques and trends.
- Review and evaluate research related work including proposals, research instruments and reports.
- Analyze research results to inform program mangers in the development of various programs and campaigns.
- Assist program managers in documentation of program progress based on research results and findings.
- Develop monitoring plans and information systems and advise on research needs to monitor relevant benchmarks and disseminate data to donors and other stakeholders.
- Develop research and monitoring plans and budgets for projects implemented or overseen by the project.
- Develop appropriate evidence-based marketing information for the project, assuring it is up to date, and presenting it to relevant project team members on a regular basis.
- Develop monitoring plan and information system for tracking key program results to be reported to the project COP.
- Other duties as reasonably directed.
