FINCA International, a leading global network of microfinance institutions providing loans to over 500,000 entrepreneurs in 20 countries is currently seeking a Coordinator for its Human and Business Resources (HBR) Department. An ideal position for an individual interested in pursuing a career in MicroFinance, it is anticipated that roughly 25% or more of the job will consist of specials projects in core competency areas.
Based in Washington, DC, the HBR Department Coordinator will monitor the relevant budgets and act as the accounts payable point person for the HBR department. He/She will manage and coordinate all departmental planning activities, the annual departmental budget, and the departmental communication (including but not limited to: FINCA International board books and presentations). He/She will assist and manage the ongoing development of the Document Management System/ HR Library and will participate in policy and procedures development. He/She will interact daily with staff from around the world on behalf of the Director of HBR. The Coordinator will schedule and coordinate all meetings, appointments, travel, visas and hotel accommodations for the Director.
  1. Required B.A. degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent work experience,
  2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience,
  3. Experience working with planning and calendaring technology required,
  4. Familiarity working with organizational budgets required,
  5. Exposure working with human resources and information technology projects an asset,
  6. International experience working abroad and in the financial services industry desirable,
  7. Ability to read budgets, financial statements, and other financial documents,
  8. Proficiency with basic mathematics skills and general office procedures,
  9. Outstanding proven time management and organizational skills,
  10. Keen attention to detail with ability to track and manage multiple projects at one time,
  11. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and to anticipate needs,
  12. Excellent judgment and diplomacy,
  13. Strong communication skills, spoken and written and the ability to relate and communicate effectively internationally,
  14. Typing/keyboarding minimum of 50 words per minute,
  15. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word and general computer literacy,
  16. Fluency in English required, Spanish, French or Russian an asset.
