The Cambodia Rural Livelihoods and Natural Resources Research Programme (RLNR) is a new initiative supported by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) to support action research projects relating to (community-based) forestry, fisheries, coastal resources and participatory protected areas management. These components are supplemented by a Development Research Support Team (DReST) based at the CBNRM Learning Institute, which will provide backstopping to the research teams and facilitate cross-sectoral learning, documentation and synthesis. This programme is now seeking a qualified national person to fill the position of Research Program Coordinator at CBNRM LI.
- A Bachelor Degree, preferably a master’s degree in a disciple relevant to the focus of the Rural Livelihoods and NR Development Research Program or related field.
- Two to five years of relevant project management experience in natural resource management or related field, experience and understanding of action research, collaborative research and/or research capacity building.
- Project Management skills, including planning, monitoring, reporting and analytical.
- Facilitation, training, & workshop organization skills.
- Enjoy working with local communities and with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, with demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Strong team player with deep commitment to learning and helping others learn.
- Sensitive to gender, indigenous and ethnicity issues.
- Fluency in English (speaking and writing), and strong computer skills.
JD:
In collaboration with Research Advisor and colleagues, and in consultation with the Programme’s Research Coordination Group, the Research Coordinator (RC) will contribute to the development of analytical capacities of research teams, assisting them in the analysis of issues related to natural resources, governance, poverty, and rural livelihoods, enabling them to derive conceptually sound research questions and produce theoretically solid interpretations of research results.
