JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

NTFP-EP is a collaborative regional network of NGOs and community-based organizations in South and Southeast Asia that is working with forest-based communities to empower to make use of and manage their natural resources. In Cambodia, NTFP-EP has been working in partnership and alliance with up to 20 NGOs and community based and indigenous peoples organizations and networks since 2007, and with over 80 NGOs and community based organizations in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam. NTFP-EP works in particular to equip forest peoples in (re)building, maintaining and multiplying their support systems in sustainable forest management and livelihoods through practical, community based interventions and strategies. Such strategies include networking, knowledge and experience exchange, technical support in community based projects and enterprises, capacity building, advocacy and policy support, and documentation and dissemination of traditional and indigenous ecological knowledge.  For more information, visit http://www.ntfp.org.

NTFP-EP Cambodia implements under its country programme, field actions and technical support to  community based NTFP enterprises and in collaboration with partner specifically in the provinces of Mondulkiri, Kratie, Stung Treng, Preah Vihear, Ratanakiri and Siem Reap provinces. NTFP-EP and its Partners also secured a substantial contribution of US$ 2.1 million from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) among other funders to carry out PaFF or the Partners for Forestry and Fisheries : Partnership Porgramme to Support Forestry and Fishery Communities in Kratie and Stung Treng Provinces, Cambodia. Phase 1 (November 2014 and December 2016) of PaFF is ongoing, therefore, NTFP-EP Cambodia Programme is currently looking for highly qualified, committed and dynamic individuals to fill the following senior management positions: 

Country Director

Key Responsibilities
The Country Director for NTFP-EP Cambodia is a member of the Asia regional management team and is lead representative for the NTFP-EP Asia branch in Cambodia. S/he must be a Cambodia national
  • Lead the country management team
  • Coordinate and manage the country programme with an estimated annual budget of $1.1M for years 2015-2017.
  • Manage the timely planning and reporting of the country programme and different projects within it, and shall coordinate the monitoring and evaluation of the programme.
  • Ensures the over-all programme and financial accountability to NTFP-EP Asia and its donors and partners.
  • Undertake networking, stakeholder engagement and manage partner relations and capacity building and projects support. The position is country programme focused – with active strategic engagements in NTFP-EP Asia regional initiatives. 
Qualifications:
  • Educational background: anthropology, forestry, ecology, biodiversity conservation, social sciences, business management, economics or other related fields
  • At least 8 year experience in development work, direct experience in forestry and community development and/or sustainable livelihoods preferred
  • At least 5 year experience in organizational and programme management; and demonstrated leadership in the field/s of sustainable community based forest/ natural resource management, natural resources governance or biodiversity conservation.
  • Strong personnel management, communication and networking skills
  • Good technical writing and presentation skills
  • Regional work experience an advantage.
