This course covers all the key elements that help to effectively report development projects’ achievements and results. Moreover, various sampled reports of the government, NGOs and UN agencies are provided to get more familiar with the report formats and standards precisely and practically. In particular, the participants are equipped with concepts, practices and experiences through clear explanation regarding relevant terminologies, definitions, usages, and formats using in report writing.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this two-day training, participants are expected to :
- Understand the importance of data in report writing
- Know how to effectively organize data in report writing
- Be aware of different styles for referencing and citation
- Learn the process and key components, key considerations and formats of report writing
- Know various types of report
- Be able to write effective reports

TRAINER PROFILE
Mr. SOK Serey earned his PhD from Hong Kong Baptist University (Hong Kong) in 2013 and MSC from School of Environment, Resources and Development of Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand) in 2005. Since 2001, Serey has worked with various national and international organizations including UNHCR-The UN Refugee Agency, UN-ESCAP Building (Bangkok). Between 2007 and 2010, Serey was an M&E Specialist at the Planning, Monitoring Evaluation and Research Department of National AIDS Authority under UNIADS Project. For this position, Serey involved in preparing Costing for the National Strategic Plan, Review of Progress Made Towards Cambodia’s Universal Access Targets, National AIDS Spending Assessment (NASA), and M&E Systems Strengthening Tool. In these recent years, Serey has many significant academic publications at several international journals. Serey’s papers have been published by Singapore Journal of Tropical Geography; Forum for Development Studies; Journal of Asian Public Policy, and Advances in Global Change Research.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
All government officials and NGOs staff who are responsible for writing reports of development projects. The course is suitable only for those who may prepare reports for UN agencies, national and international NGOs as well as anyone who is interested in effective report writing skills.
