The inability of ESL teachers to effectively manage classroom behavior often contributes to the low achievement of at-risk students and their excessive referrals for education. These effects are exacerbated by the current pattern of teacher distribution, which reveals a disproportionate assignment of less qualified and less experienced teachers to classroom with economically disadvantaged children. The purposes of Advance Strategies for Effective Classroom Management training are to reveal new, unable and less experienced teachers to be the capable teachers with high confidence when being in classroom. The training also aims at getting ready to fresh teachers for teaching, managing and controlling children effectively.

Overall Objective
  • To provide a wide range of practical techniques to school principals, school disciplinary committee and management team for improving classroom hierarchy management and teachers management; and
  • To equip teachers of all levels with adaptable skills and foundation of knowledge in managing, leading, dealing with students’ behaviors toward producing a high quality of learning outcomes.

Expected Outcome
By the end of this two-day training course, participants will be able to:
  • Define classroom management theories and real practices in Cambodia;
  • Understand clearly of what the root causes of students’ misbehaviors and how it affects to learning environment;
  • Adapt effective strategies in dealing with students’ misbehaviors (minor and the most difficult misbehaviors);
  • Adapt practical strategies in positive disciplinary action toward promoting students’ behaviors; and
  • Use of prevention strategies for students’ misbehaviors.

Who is the trainer?
Mr. Sou Savoeurn possesses over 10 years of experiences in teaching ESL and training to improve high standard of implication for achieving organizational goals. He experienced in community-based organizations formation, community development-based youth agents, program technical advice, organizational strategic development, school and education center management and program management. Savoeurn also experienced in organizing, delivering, monitoring and evaluating the success of training curriculums and trainings provided to local partners, companies, not-for-profit organizations, social enterprises, local government agencies and individuals for effective implementation, leading, managing and evaluating of those institutions’ activities.

Currently, Savoeurn works as Community Development Program Manager (CDP Manager) and chairman of Education Technical Team. He pertains to lead, manage, monitor, evaluate and ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, relevant, impact and lessons learnt of child protection & education, livelihood restoration & improvement, health service improvement and community organizing projects. He conducts regular coaching and training to project staffs, local partners and individuals for achieving all project vision, mission, goals and objectives. Furthermore, he is a weekend trainer for a private institution and NGOs. Savoeurn’s past positions include academic director, acting child protection and education program manager and program technical adviser.
